Occasionally, PSE gets bogged down and behaves strangely with presets and other functions.  When this happens, try shutting down and restarting the software.  If that doesn't work, you may need to reset your preferences. Here's how:

1. Exit PSE.

2. Open PSE just to the Welcome Screen and press Ctrl + Alt + Shift (Mac: Cmd + Opt + Shift) and keep pressing.

3. Click on "Edit" from the Welcome Screen but keep pressing the keyboard keys - don't let up.

4. You will get a little dialog box asking if you want to delete the settings file. Click "Yes."  You can let go of the keyboard keys now.

This will rebuild the file for you and often solves the issue.
