Is
it spring where you live? One of my favorite things about this
season is watching the new plants peek their little heads out of the
ground – the promise of a new layer of growth in my garden.
As
you are building a document in Photoshop and PSE, you often need to
create a new layer,
too.
With just a few keystrokes or clicks, you can give yourself a fresh,
new layer to work with. With a document open, you can create a new
transparent layer using one of these methods:
From
the Menu Bar, select Layer
> New > Layer.
Click
once on the “Create
a New Layer”
icon in the Layers Palette. This creates a new transparent layer
above the currently selected layer.
Press
Ctrl
+ Shift + N
(Mac: Cmd
+ Shift + N)
on your keyboard. Like Method 2, this creates a new transparent
layer above the layer that is currently selected.
