How’d They Do That? No. 24: Totally Ripped

This lesson focuses on creating custom torn edges for papers and photos. I teach you the two different techniques shown in the sample layout. One technique is for a simple, clean tear like the one on the photo. The other is for a more fibrous, chunky tear like the one on the kraft paper.

This lesson includes:

• 21-page, full-color pdf with screen shots (in PS CS4) for Photoshop users
• A 20-page, full-color pdf with screen shots (in PSE 6.0) for Elements users
• Three papers, one “smile” title in .png and .abr format, and three plastic flowers, all designed by Katie Pertiet

Difficulty:
While I do provide every step necessary to complete the techniques, it is helpful to have some experience with opening and closing files and a basic knowledge of the Photoshop or Photoshop Elements workspace.
