DesignerDigitals Hot Page of the Week
I adore this page from Connie! Not only to I love how her daughter naturally stands out in this photo, but the starburst she used draws your eye right in. And the coloring of the brushwork in the template reflect on the photo perfectly! Wonderful page, Connie!
And here are just a few of the items that she used in her layout:
And three new Weekly Inspirations with freebies! You will need to sign into your Community account to get these. If you do not have an account yet you can create one in our Community.
Adobe Photoshop or Elements Tip of the Week:
Put a Sparkle in Their Eye in Photoshop and PSE
You can also watch this tip on video on our blog: Put a Sparkle in Their Eye in Photoshop and PSE [Video]
Sometimes when you photograph people or pets, the eyes lack sparkle or turn out flat. You can make the photos more compelling by adding a small speck of light in each eye.
Open the image in Photoshop or Elements.
Locate the Options bar (either at the top of the editing window or below in the Tool Options bin.)
Set the Hardness to about 85%. In Photoshop, the Hardness is found when you open the Brush picker.
Click once on each eye. If you wish, you can reduce the size of the brush by pressing the [ key on your keyboard (multiple times until you reach the desired size.) Click again in each eye to add a second sparkle.
Now reduce the Opacity of the new layer by dragging the Opacity slider to the left. The Opacity slider can be found at the top right corner of the Layers panel. Drag until the sparkle looks realistic – usually around 75% - 80%.
Adding just this tiny fleck brings a spark of life to each eye, making the photo more engaging.
Have a great week and we'll see you at DesignerDigitals!
