Another page for my favorite photos book...

On the heels of a long winter, word that it's ice out time on the river always comes as welcome news, the ice's disappearance from the river being one of the first signs that spring is on its way. A couple of years ago, DH and I managed to get out with our cameras at the right time to document the event, finding a wonderful vantage point from which to do our shooting beside a small country bridge.

I decided to try a darker look with this layout, applying effects to my papers which are meant to mimic the look of river (or lake) ice as it's thinning and the waters beneath are beginning to become visible through it. (Just for good measure, though, I think I'm going to rework it in a higher-key version, so that I'll be covered in case I should decide, when I'm putting my book together, that the contrast between this dark one and the other layouts in the series is too strong.)
