So, OK... I am such a ding-dong! I had this layout done for LAST week's challenge on the "Idea Books 4U" blog... and just found it in my file! Geesh!

Anyways, Donna's sketch made this simple layout come together really quickly... I loved being able to showcase two large photos AND two smaller, supporting pics AND alot of journaling! Which I really, really needed to tell the story of Shannon's first ever foray into another sport!

Thanks for the challenge, Jill... sorry I'm such a dolt and forgot to post here last week! Duh!

JOURNALING
SS = shortstop. A new position and a new sport for you. These photos were taken at your first softball game... ever. It’s true. You’re 15 and you’ve never played the game, yet here you are in a NHHS uniform playing softball! Not only did you make the team, you actually made varsity! You are such an incredible athlete that you picked up most of the skills right away at the summer camp and the two coaches where thrilled to think they had an up-and-coming softball star on the team! ☺ But, after training with the varsity for a week, you had some serious concerns: You weren’t familiar with all the rules and intracacies of the game. (”Mom, you really have to think when you’re playing!”) You weren’t sure you could actually hit a 6O-mph pitch. Worse... not one of your friends had made varsity. To top it off, club soccer started again and we all know that’s your priority. So, you made the decision to step down to the JV team to play with your friends and let another girl move up to varsity. The two coaches were disappointed but accepting... me? Well... I admit that I wasn’t thrilled with your decision, but I will say that not only am I proud of your athletic accomplishments, Shannon, I am even more proud of your compassion, loyalty and wisdom.
