One more for my favorite photos book!

While out on a drive through the local countryside early one evening, DH and I happened across this trio of horses, apparently headed back to the farmyard after having gotten out (or maybe been let out) of their pasture. Because there was no way to be sure they weren't going to dart out onto the road in front of us—and encounters between such large animals and automobiles rarely end well—DH, who was driving, slowed the car to a near-crawl as we passed, enabling to grab this shot. We weren't going so slowly, though, that I could fiddle with my framing, so, compositionally, it's not a great image; still, being "a horse nut," I'm fond of it anyway!
