Inspired by Janet's (jalong) great sports pages of her son.

Journaling: We signed Alyssa up for basketball in October. She really enjoyed playing soccer and was looking forward to a new sport. Before the season started another parent contacted me and told me they didnít have enough coaches. I decided to volunteer. I purchased 3 youth coaching books from amazon in preparation. Only one was helpful, the others were geared towards an older crowd. Our first practice was a joint session with all of the teams in the league. It was fun to watch the kids practice their dribbling and other skills, and also beneficial for me to see how other coaches handled things. Each practice was a new adventure. Every game was a learning experience for both myself and my players. Our season was short, but the kids had a ball and after all was said and done, I did too.
