After seeing the first version of this layout online, I decided it might be just a little too soft-looking, so I reworked it a bit, tweaking the color saturation and contrast to get this (I think) slightly punchier variation...and, of course, now I'm not sure which variation on the theme I prefer! (Ain't that always the way?)
As noted in the case of version one, the starting point for this layout was another of my mom's old black-and-white photos, one of those shots where the flash had blown out a lot of the detail in some spots (like the ladies' faces and my mom's clothing), and then not done a very good job at all of illuminating others, so I thought it would be an ideal image to get artsy with.
