This is a page for my son's baby book telling him how we chose his unique name…thanks for looking!
Feeling really long-winded tonight!
Journaling reads:
"One afternoon your daddy and I were sitting on the couch praying through the adoption. Things were going much slower than anticipated and we so longed to be holding our baby boy in our arms! We were even beginning to doubt that everything was all going to work out. At the time I was too young to adopt, we didn’t make enough money, blah, blah, blah, but as we were praying the scripture came to mind that says, “You know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the Lord your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed. Every good promise of the Lord your God has come TRUE.” In that moment, I said to your daddy, “Let’s name him TRUE!” Of course, it being quite uncommon, he looked at me as if I had two heads! It fit in so many ways so perfectly for us. In our family, we love Jesus first, he’s the most dependable and loving--so deeply TRUE as the bible says. Also, I wanted you to have a name that both gave promise and purpose. You are the promise of God to us and you are our TRUE son, no one can ever take that away from you. I also believe you have a deep calling on your life to be a young man who stands for truth and justice. So there you have it, Jesus is the truth upon which we stake our lives upon, God’s promises came TRUE in you, and you are TRUE-ly ours. I know that there will be times when you are going to have to explain it to friends at school, teachers, strangers, etc...but I always want you to know why your name is uniquely TRUE. You can come up with your own response if you’d like and I won’t mind, but always know that mommy and daddy aren’t crazy, they just knew from the beginning how full of promise you would be!
Now for your middle name, well, that’s a sermonette for another day.
