When the rockets
are lit, everyone
else stands be-
hind the chalk
line if it is not
their turn.

Daddy got off work early on July 3rd, and we all
went to Southaven to buy some fireworks from one
of those temporary tents set up for holidays
such as July 4th and New Years Day. You were all
too excited to wait until night-time, so we lit
off a few bottle-rockets since they don’t have
any visual value and just make a loud noise.

We’ll wait till later to shoot off the pretty-
looking ones. Until then, the swimming, grilled
hamburgers, and the red-white-and blue-cupcakes
should keep you all busy.

"For what avail the plough or sail,
or land or life, if freedom fail?"
~Ralph Waldo Emerson
