This layout is in response to one of Jesse's prompts in her chat challenge last weekend: Give one word to describe your first page/layout.

Journaling reads:

Simple. That’s how I would describe my first digi layout. After spending hours pouring over manuals and tutorials in an attempt to learn Photoshop, I finally created a piece of paper, added my photos, a little journaling and was absolutely thrilled with the results. Little did I know at the time, that my first layout would be the beginning of an obsession.

To my delight, I quickly discovered a plethora of gorgeous digital products created by insanely talented designers. Best of all, these products could be purchased at any time of the day or night with a simple click of a mouse. Soon I found myself immersed in tutorials, design books and online galleries. A deeper interest in photography eventually led me to a new camera, new lenses, more books and more questions.

Over the last several months, I’ve learned many new techniques, gained a bit of confidence and taken my camera off of auto (ahem, for the most part). My skills and stash are slowly increasing (okay my stash is increasing exponentially!). Every day, I see wonderfully creative and unique layouts in online galleries. But despite all of these factors, my personal style remains as it was in the beginning - persistently simple.
