Journaling:It must have been about 1970 when I got my puppy, Bernie. My sister got Brownie. They were German Shepherd/ St Bernard mix. One year Bernie had puppies. I can’t remember how many she had, but I remember 2 of them. Captain and Shasta. The puppies were so cute!! We hated to give them away, but we knew we couldn’t keep them. Captain was given to our friends Roy and Nancy. He grew up to be a huge dog! He had lots of kids to play with, a big yard to run in, and we were able to see him from time to time! My youngest brother gave Shasta to his good friend John, so he was able to watch her grow up into a beautiful dog. We all definitely had a bad case of Puppy Love!!
