Cynoglossum officinale. Gypsy flower or Houndstongue. Biennial herb of the Borage family. Tall, stately, and a standout on a creek or pond bank.
However, the gypsy is one of nature's deceiving beauties. She's an invasive, noxious weed that is toxic to livestock. And she stinks like a rat's nest, hence her other nickname Rats and Mice!
