The next page about my parents-in-law moving house at 85. It is hard to know whether to sit back and be supportive or to simply take things out of their hands, isn't it?!!
journaling: Laurel kept all their old photos loose in a drawer. Many were unlabelled. When Deborah and I optimistically gave her photo albums to put them in she would respond “When we’re gone you can do whatever you like with them”. When we sat down to ask who the people were in the photos she would say “Oh, they’re all dead” as if that meant they were of no interest to us any more. During this visit she mentioned that she had burned quite a few photos. That was the last straw! We politely asked if we could take the whole drawer full of photos home to sort out. Now we have a mess of photos to sort through but at least we have them!
