Another page for my ranch book….

Journaling reads:

This gate was built by Grandpa Tom Patterson back in the 1960’s. It is a plain wooden gate with a terrible latch. We use it when going back and forth from the corral to the house. We cross the wooden bridge and then climb the small hill that goes into the backyard. Over the years we have used it as a practice spot when branding. If you look closely you can still faintly see Grandpa’s Four Heart Quarter Circle brand that he applied to the gate. When our oldest son Tom, was just starting to learn his ABC’s he noticed that this gate had a “Z” on it.....honestly, I have walked through this gate hundreds of times and never noticed. Now we all call it the “Z” gate. If we ever rebuild or move the corral....I am keeping this gate and will use it in my garden or somewhere special. I love it and all that it stands for!

Keeping my ranch pages very simple and graphic to please the men in the house!!
