Journaling: Were you a girl or a boy? We always suspected that you were a girl. Mummy just had this feeling that you were. But the biggest thing was that we picked out a potential girl’s name straight away but could not even think about boys names. When we were pregnant with your brother, we couldn’t even think about girls names. That is what made us certain you were a little girl. This was a secret that you were intent on keeping to yourself though. At the 18 week ultrasound you kept your legs crossed and were not going to give us any hints at all. After nearly 1.5 hours of them to trying to get clear images of the really important stuff (your heart etc) we knew were not going to find out your gender. Something you will learn about Mummy as you get older is that she likes to be over prepared for everything and because of this, she does not like surprises. There was no way Mummy could wait until you were born and to be honest, Daddy was super excited to find out, too. So the next logical step for us was to book a gender scan. We invited your Nana and Pa Walker along as they had not yet seen you ‘on the big screen’ and we were all excited mostly to just see you. You were uncooperative again and I started to think we would have to wait until you were born! However, towards the end of the session we were able to get a quick glimpse to see that you were indeed our little baby.... GIRL! Mummy and Daddy’s suspicions were correct! Our little ‘Poppyseed’ was growing so beautifully in there!
