In Hierapolis in Turkey (next to Pammukale), there is a thermal bathing pool littered with fragments of columns and friezes that may be the remains of a sacred pool associated with the Temple of Apollo. This was a fun place to swim with some of our group. I had a choice of touring another archeology museum (the fourth one of the trip) or doing this. Some of the columns are quite close to the surface of the pool so you can sit on some of them in the pool. The pool is surrounded by pink oleander. I've also heard this called "Cleopatra's Pool". I
