The Wisconsin River played a major roll in our local history. Documenting from as far back as 1838, pioneers made their way here to develop saw mills, and eventually a paper mill. We currently have 3 paper mills. I'm both proud and sad when I look back at the extremely hard work that was put into developing this industry. I'm a 3rd generation paper mill worker. To see it slowly disappear and take my city with it is hard. Within one generation, the paper industry as we know it may be all but gone.
