JOURNALING: Another week that just seemed to fly by. Poppy’s heat rash started to improve and the doctor was happy with it when he saw her Thursday. We go back in another week for a final check up! Lincoln has taken a real interest in dressing himself this week and choosing his own clothes. This means multiple outfit changes a day! The only problem is he pulls out every piece of clothing he owns and tries to wear jackets in 34 degree weather! He’s learning. Saturday we planned to take Lincoln bowling but they had no lanes available so we took him to the arcade instead. He loved it there and was not too happy when it was time to go. Mum and Dad both felt decidedly old because they found it far too loud! Sunday we managed to go bowling. Lincoln has bowled once before and loved it but this time he kept trying to run up the lanes! After bowling we came home to play in the backyard. We think we might have to book Lincoln’s birthday party at the bowling alley though he loved it so much. It should be fun!

An elderly lady stopped us at the shops wanting to see Poppy. When she asked us her name, her eyes welled up and she said “My husband was known as Poppy. He passed away recently and is now in heaven.” We stayed a while longer and hoped we added just even a little smile to her day.

I love watching Lincoln create until his heart’s content. It has been a while since he was interested in the chalk and he had fun drawing and making a mess on the cement.
