I’ve had “starter’s” that I thought were sourdough starter. They were called “friendship starter” and “Herman” but they were not like this one. This one that Chris and Renee shared is much more involved. But it is sooooo good! I’ll need to feed it on the weekend so maybe I’ll make biscuits this time. I’m not sure I’m ready to make more bread!!

Journaling:
Years ago I made bread every Tuesday morning! I love the smell of the bread baking and the absolute deliciousness of a warm slice with butter melting in my mouth. But the kids grew up and I took a job outside our home and that all changed. However, Chris and Renee shared some sourdough starter so I just had to make bread. This is such a long process: feed it, wait 12 hours; feed it again, wait 12 hours; feed again and wait about four hours; knead for 20 minutes (yes!! 20 minutes!); raise until double and bake. While I’m in the middle of it all and getting tired of the process I say I won’t do it again. But with one warm slice I know that before long I be at it again!! It is too irresistible!
