my kids had never really seen baseball on television (other than in movies),
so this trip to the ballpark was a super treat for them (and for us watching them).

journalling reads:
this was one of those "firsts" that will not soon be forgotten...
Davidís furlough-must-do list included taking the kids to their first ballgame, so within 48 hours of arriving stateside, we were walking through the Ballpark at Arlington looking for our way-up-high seats in section 318. welcome to America, kids! we decided to go a little early for the 7:05pm game so we could make a dinner out of the $1 hot dogs, cheesy nachos, and the free refills of Dr. Pepper. (welcome to America, Heather!) and with these cute kids in the middle of a sea of empty seats, itís no wonder that we made it on the jumbotron just as the game was beginning! the Rangers didnít disappoint, winning 7-3 against the Houston Astros. and the between-inning entertainment was equally as fun for the kids: french fry tosses, base stealing, mascot racing and plenty of music. baseball left its mark on them...for days (and weeks) afterward, Jordan would lead any interested audience (in public or at home) in a ďletís go, Rangers...(clap) (clap) (clap-clap-clap-clap)Ē chant. Americaís favorite pasttime has four new little fans!
