Unfortunately, this week started off on a somber note as The Yarnell Hill fire in our state killed all but one member of the 20-strong Granite Mountain "hotshot" team. It was the biggest loss of life among US firefighters since the September 11 attacks and the most from a wildfire in 80 years.
On Tuesday, we had a HUGE hail storm that produced so much hail it looked like snow. The temperature dropped 30 degrees in 30 minutes. Grateful for the rain.
Wednesday was the day I had been waiting for; Matt and Justin arrived home for a visit and to celebrate Matt’s 30th Birthday. We barbecued, I cooked ALOT, and just relaxed. Matt and Bruce played 18 holes of golf, and I joined them for the first nine.
The long weekend went by way to fast, but not before we could celebrate Matt’s 30th birthday with his favorite dinner and dessert. It was so nice to have them home.
