This is where Merr's challenge took me. No details from this year but just one single significant event. Digging through my heritage photos, I came across this photo and googled information on it(I just love google!). I actually learned more about the oblation last night than when I was in college. Thanks, Merr and TFL!

Journaling reads:
"The Oblation is a concrete statue by Filipino artist Guillermo E. Tolentino which serves as the iconic symbol of the University of the Philippines. It depicts a man facing upward with arms outstretched, symbolizing selfless offering of oneself to his country." The oblation is a prominent symbol of my alma mater. I am proud to be a product of this school system. The original statue was dedicated on March 1939.
