Greetings, DD'ers and Happy Monday! (I don't know why, but "Happy Monday" always sounds like an oxymoron to me, but I digress...)

So, I'm still working on pages for Jana's latest class over at Creative Passions. If I'm lucky I'll get through lesson 4 before Jana starts her next class! Smile

This page is for lesson 2. The class is called "All Star Graphics," but I don't really have any sports photos to scrap so I rummaged through my seemingly endless stash o' unscrapped photos and came up with some that I could use to practice making the type of graphic page Jana made for lesson 2.

The photos are of my mom, taken long before she was a wife and mother. She passed away a little over 5 years ago (Wow! Has it really been that long?!?) and when she passed she left me boxes and boxes of old photos and clippings and letters. It has been such a treat going through all of that, as it gives me a glimpse into the person she was before I knew her. It's also been very vexing, though, as she did not annotate anything, so I'm having to piece together her stories from clues in the photos themselves. For example, because of other photos where is she is wearing the same outfit and where I actually recognize the background, I know these were taken at Lake Tahoe, a lake that straddles the California-Nevada border high in the Sierra Nevada mountains. Beyond that, though, I don't know too much else about these particular photos. The mom I knew was not an outdoor enthusiast, not even a little bit, so I would have loved to have been able to ask her what prompted her visit to this lake, and more importantly, who was the photographer? Was it a boy? Why did they break up? So many unanswered questions from such simple photos!

Okay, on to the next lesson!
