You were officially weaned this month and are now strictly on formula. Your mom’s milk EPD was a disappointment not keeping up with demand. However, you switched to formula with ease. For the first time you really got sick and even had to make a visit to the doctor. You tested negative for RSV, a nasty respiratory virus that has been a major concern for babies this year. We were relieved. Dr. Harrison gave you a prescription for wheezing, which required a nebulizer treatment. It was absolutely horrible, so Mommy and Daddy only did it a handful of times to get you on the mend. Four days later, your breathing finally eased. You lost weight while sick. On your doctor visit Feb. 5 they weighed you in at nearly 24 lb. By your official 9 month appointment on Feb. 8, you weighed in at 19 lb. 2 oz. and were 28 inches. For what it’s worth, your weight is in the 52nd percentile and your height is in the 62nd percentile. You’ve perfected standing this month. Daddy bought you a portable corral for safe playing in the living room, and you like to stand and “walk” the perimeter. You spent a few days snowed in at home this month, with a major storm and blizzard bringing about 17 inches to the ranch. It was much needed moisture, but it would take about 200 inches of the white stuff to break the terrible drought that continues in the Flint Hills. Still no teeth to report.

EPD means Expected Progeny Difference....its a cattle term. We ranchers are a weird lot!!!
