I knew exactly what I was going to scrap for this week's "One Theme, Three Scrappers" challenge on the DD Blog--my very Danish grandmother who baked an awesome Swedish Kringler! *grin* Maybe she got the recipe after my dad married my mom, whose family is Swedish! That's one of those stories that were never told...
I added little flag images from both countries but kept the red and white of Denmark in the forfront, adding a tucked Swedish flag and tiny strips of blue and yellow cardstock to represent the Swedish part of the story!

JOURNALING
Gertrude Carstensen was her maiden name... quite a mouthful, Im sure, when she was a little girl. This is my grandma on Dads side of the family... the Danish side of our (mostly) Scandinavian family. [Moms side of the family hail from Sweden.] Anyways, Gram was always very proud of her Danish heritage and inspired my interest, not only in our family heritage, but my love of travel and fancy for languages... although I yet to learn Danish! *smiley* But, one thing always made me laugh... her love of baking rang true to her Danish upbringing, but why did she make such a delicious Swedish Kringler?
