We married on St. Patrick's Day….to make it simple to remember
and also to celebrate that it was on St. Patrick's day in 1976!!! that he called to tell me
I had been accepted into Graduate School with a full scholarship and that he would be my major professor.
We did that and went our separate ways….not seeing each other for twenty years.
Then….he called again in spring of '98, we got together in spring of '99 and married on St. Pat's in 2001.
That is the short story….as you might imagine!!
The Irish toast was delivered by my Father on our wedding day to great applause.
Our actual legal wedding was under the cherry blossoms at the Botanical Garden.
The two of us and my girlfriend, the legal minister….contracts, you know.
The ritual, ceremony and party were later that day …
as you might guess we were our own officiants,
with our children as our Best People.
Celebrate the Love on St. Pattie's.
Thanks for looking.
