I can barely believe that I have kept up for four days! Amazing . . . now I should finish the last few November Thankfulness days (in my spare time)!

Journaling: My sewing machine has been inactive during the holidays this season. Don’t know why . . . perhaps it is because I have been working on cleaning out our attic and working on Aunt Velma’s house. Guess I’m just a bit preoccupied. I offered to buy the granddaughters dresses to wear during the holidays.

I was having an inkling of sadness this morning that I haven’t sewed, so I went to Anne’s wonderful little yellow cottage sewing shop and looked over their Christmas fabrics. A bonus was that all the holiday patterns and fabrics were 25% off! I found a pretty piece of grey with little red and white birds there and got enough for two little skirts to wear with some red long-sleeved tee tops from Target. I had a piece of red with cute Christmas trees on it to make the third skirt. Got red and green grosgrain ribbon and pulled out a pattern that I used last year I think.

A sweet memory of mine are all of the Christmas dresses, which were made for me by my grandmother, and Aunt Velma each year . . . I remember a beautiful red velveteen dress from my seventh grade year that Vela made for me and I wore it to a Christmas party and felt like a princess! Memories of sewing have saturated my life and I am so thankful that I love to sew just as the other women in our family have.
