I’m moving along two by two . . . I am trying to speed up a bit in order to catch up! Note: this isn’t his typical wardrobe to work on the farm . . . we had been away for a couple of days and stopped by the farm so he could feed the calves some grain on our way back home. Not sure his farmer clothes would make quiet as nice a photo!

“And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food.” ~ Genesis 1:29

Journaling: Today I am thankful for our farm which brings such joy to Ed. Not long before Ed retired at the end of 2008, he found a farm in Dennison County to buy and then decided to raise Angus cattle. He has never looked back and has never regretted his decision. He has enjoyed every moment of his retirement so far. I asked him a few years ago what was the hardest work he had done in his life . . . being in the Army, his tour of duty in Vietnam, his many years working for Farm Bureau or farming. Without a moments thought, he said farming. He loves mending fences, hauling hay and is reality attached to those cows! But best of all, is that he loves being in the outdoors . . . seeing deer and owls and buzzards, hawks, coyotes . . . and we just found out that there is a black bear near by to keep an eye out for too.
