Journaling reads:
It’s been seven years since we’ve had a dog in our home. We met “Nyx” at an event at the park on September 8th. She is an Old English Mastiff, seven months old, and she needed a home. She was as sweet as could be, and with in minutes of meeting her, Lydia and Cade were begging us to make her part of our family. Looks were exchanged between Dad and I. My mind raced. I had just taken a part time job for the first time in nine years. I’m obsessed with keeping the house clean, and having had a Mastiff before, I know that is nearly impossible with one of them in the home, but somewhere in my heart, I just knew...this puppy was meant to be ours. It took almost a week of waiting, background checks, emails and phone calls, but on Friday, September 14, 2012, our puppy came home. We named her “Lyra” after the constellation, and more specifically because of the fawn patch on her left side. Within hours of her being home, we were smitten, and a new life has begun.
