Had to try out the lesson on Painting in Progress on Katie's blog. This is a first try and I am not there yet.
If I had been trying to set this up, I could never have gotten these shots. I was playing with my new tripod seeing how quickly I could maneuver it. (Hummingbirds are perfect for this kind of practice because if you are not fast, you end up with beautiful pictures of the feeders). This young hummingbird zoomed into the picture and I started madly clicking away. It was not until I looked at the photos later that I realized I had captured her with the nectar from the feeder reflecting a brilliant scarlet off her feathers.
