I love when we anchor near Hurricane Pass at Caladesi. You always ask, “is it going to be an island?” Meaning, will the tide be low or high? The tide is often high when we anchor, but after a couple of hours, the tide goes out, revealing a treasure trove of sea life. Together, we explore the rippled sand. You excitedly call out your finds, as we search for spider crabs, horseshoe crabs, sand dollars, conch and thousands of colorful shells. It’s always special when we discover something new. We respect the living creatures and their habitat, and leave them undisturbed. Sometimes their vacant shell homes find the way into ours. Caladesi is our favorite place to explore together. You love this special place like I do. It holds our hearts and memories.
