Greetings, DD'ers and happy Monday! (Ugh! Did I really just say that? Monday means the weekend is over; what's happy about that? ...but I digress...)

Here's another page for my Golden Gate bike ride project, a project I recently dug out of my "Clean Up" folder. I've posted the full story on earlier pages, but to recap: A few years ago a group of friends and I biked across the Golden Gate bridge. Although some in our merry little band had their own bikes, most of us rented a bike from a bike rental shop called Blazing Saddles. That name just completely cracks me up. I'm sure the company appropriated the name from the 1970's Mel Brookes movie of the same name. Every time I hear the words "blazing saddles" I can't help but start singing the theme song to that movie, the opening line of which is, "He rode a blazing saddle..." and this is where my page title comes from.

(And speaking of appropriation, my page design here is another in a series of blatant rip-offs of--er, homages to--Janet's (Janet1949) recent pages. I really love what she's been doing!)

Oh, and I know this is a family site, but I'm sure there is a double entendre in my page title. We were on those bikes for hours! Blazing saddles indeed! Smile
