So, ever since Lincoln turned one and my weekly pages stopped I've had quite a hard time coming up with an alternative. I wanted something that was quick and easy to put together without too many elements but I also wanted to use some of the 1000+ photos I take a month that don't make it to a scrapbook page. My plan is to use these as a sort of overview as they will be very journal heavy and then slot any individual pages in from that month behind. Well, that's the plan anyways! Smile

Thanks for looking. Smile

Journaling: We took you to Alma Park Zoo this month, Son. I wish I could say that you loved the animals but in reality you paid no attention to them and instead had more fun running around the paths. You did however like the petting zoo and thought it was the funnest thing ever patting the calves and sheep. Realistically though, you were probably a little too young for it. We had a really good food month for you and you tried so many new things. You got your fifth tooth this month so you were a little more adventurous in your eating. You tried and liked spaghetti bolognese, lasagne, prawns, calamari, apricot chicken, meatballs, pear, grapes, fruit muffins and chocolate mousse. You seem to always be eating these days and it’s no wonder you have a grown a lot lately. You moved on from formula to regular milk this month. I didn’t expect it to be so easy but you love cow’s milk. I don’t think you have missed the formula at all! You still mostly wear size 1 but also the occasional size 2 and size 5 shoes. You are still in nappy pants but I don’t think it will be long before you have worked out how to take them off yourself. You had your second cold this month also. It made you so snotty and you had some trouble with that to start off with. The first night you hardly slept at all and Mummy ended up sitting up with you for quite a few hours. I think that was because every time you fell asleep you closed your mouth and then could not breathe properly. So you would then wake up in a panic. It was a tough night but by the second night you were sleeping a lot better. You have been so affectionate lately. You give lots of cuddles and kisses and regularly will come up to Daddy or I just for a cuddle. We always have a cuddle and quiet time before bed and now you won’t go to bed until you have had that. I love this stage you are in and your little hugs and kisses melt my heart every time. You understand quite a lot of words now. I have taught you that when you open a cupboard door or drawer that you need to shut it. Now all I have to say is “close the door” and you do it. It seemed to make more sense than chasing you out of cupboards every 5 minutes. You are so good with it now that if I have the pantry door open looking for dinner ingredients you will come along and close the door on me. Or if I am putting dishes away and have a door open you will close it. It is very cute but I do wonder how long it will be before you would rather pull the contents out of those cupboards and drawers. Just as well we have all of the dangers locked away! You have been so much more steady on your feet and there have been hardly any head bumps this month. I am so happy about that! Although you are still pushing your limits to see how fast those little legs of yours can move! Running properly is in your near future I think!
