My page is a lift of the Guitar by smerry. Memories of one of the many brilliant summers spent at the fabulous Jersey Shore with friends, fun and food! Our children turned 15, 13, 11 & 9 this particular summertime of their childhood. My lift started out very straightforward . . . but morphed into something somewhat different.

Journaling: The summer of 1985 we spend an amazing two weeks in June at the Jersey Shore. Specifically we stayed in a wonderful, very old wooden three-story beach house, which opened up to beautiful Manasquan Beach. This was very near where we lived while stationed at Ft. Monmouth a few years earlier. Our old friend Paula brought her children Philip, Jeffery, Danny and Jaine over every day after breakfast. Paula and I loved to have a cup of coffee in our beach chairs while the kids began their day of sunshine and water. We would make sandwiches and take them to the beach for lunch and then often we all walked up the boardwalk for supper from the vendors there. Then it was time for Paula & me to have frosty glasses of iced coffee while the children ate Hippolyte on Ritz crackers and played. When your dad got home we cleaned up and ate fabulous seafood suppers at Evelyn’s, Casey Jones or the Highlands. Other days we cooked at home or went to Paula’s house for a cookout and swimming in their pool. Wonderful, magical memories of a idyllic and brilliant childhood summer!
