Journaling: Grand Cayman was the port of call for the Magic today! We were on the first tender to the island. It was easy to find a taxi to the world famous ‘Seven Mile Beach.’ Because we arrived so early in the morning, we were the first people on the public beach! We were able to secure a beautiful little cabana and lounging chairs. The turquoise waters were in front of us and a lovely playground for the girls behind us.
We swam and ‘snorkeled,’ using the term a bit generously, right off the shore. Even Flat Matthew got in on the action. Kristin and Kaira were thrilled to see many schools of small silvery fish that they dubbed ‘minnows.’ When it started to get crowded, we packed up and returned to the ship, avoiding long lines to tender and enjoying the less crowded facilities on the boat. Disney’s brand new ship, the Fantasy (on her maiden voyage) had arrived in the harbor at Grand Cayman. It was fun to see how massive she was, dwarfing the 1000 foot long Magic.
Our dinner was in Parrot Cay for the second night in a row, this time with an “Island” theme.
