These Hands:
These are the hands that first held me. These are the hands that dried my tears and pulled me onto a lap. These are the hands that held tight to mine in a crowd, keeping me safe. These are the hands that smoothed my hair as I cried over a broken heart. These are the hands that cared for me when I was sick. These are the hands of a strong woman who raised seven children (and three husbands) by herself. These are the hands of a woman who had to make tough choices and many sacrifices in her life. These are the hands of woman who has a heart bigger than this world deserves. These are the hands of a woman who knows no vanity, only service and hard work. These are the hands of a woman with a strong will who is stubborn and who will never quit on anything she believes in. These are the hands of a wonderful, loving grandmother. These are the hands of woman who chose to become a nurse to care for others. These are the hands of my amazing Mother. They are wrinkled and soft, gentle and loving and they have been there for me my entire life.
