I admit I have a really soft spot in my heart for Canada geese. I know they're big, messy birds, and that they can destroy a beautiful lawn, but I love them anyway. They're beautiful. I love the subtle fawns and striking black and white of their feathers. I love the way they stick together. I love the way they always harken spring, and whisper farewell to summer. I love that they seem reluctant to leave in the fall.

The photo was taken for Katrina's class. This lesson assignment was on "Capturing nothing".
