Template Challenge June 30, 2011

Do you ever get a song stuck in your head and you can't stop humming it no matter what you do? And don't you just hate it when someone tells you they have a song stuck in their head and then they tell you the name of the song and now you have the same song stuck in your head? Prepare to start humming. Smile Last weekend I attended a softball game in which my niece was playing. She's been playing in a local softball league since she was 6 years old, and she's really come in to her own (says the proud auntie! Smile ) I try to attend as many games of hers as I can. Every single time I go to one of her games, though, that John Fogerty song, "Center Field," starts playing in my brain like background music. If it would just last for the duration of the game that would be great, but it usually lingers on for a few days. Even as late as Thursday of this past week, I was still singing, "Put me in, Coach!" much to the amusement and annoyance of my lab mates. It was on that day I saw the wonderful template Linda had selected for the latest Template Challenge and I had one of those "Ah Ha!" moments: I knew instantly what I was going to scrap with it. The photos I used are of my niece at a softball game from a few years ago; I adore the one of her looking through the chain link fence at the camera.

When I completed this page, I still had not fully exorcized "Center Field" from my head, so I made a companion page that has the song lyrics on it; the two-pager is shown below:

Mercifully, I no longer have "Center Field" stuck on repeat in my head...now I'm hearing Lady GaGa's "Bad Romance." I wonder what kind of a page I can make from that?!? Smile

Ready? All together now..a-one and a-two:

"Oh, put me in, coach - I'm ready to play today
Put me in, coach - I'm ready to play today
Look at me
I can be
Center field."
