CT Scraplift: Sharon (Shannamay)

I've had Sharon's Claire's Car page in my "I Must Lift This!" folder ever since she posted it. Recently, Elena posted a link in the forums to a wonderful video, and suddenly I knew how I wanted to lift Sharon's page. Apparently that video was made to remind people to always wear their seat belts, but doesn't that concept just make the most wonderful metaphor for traveling through life together with someone you love? (Can I get an "Awwww!" Smile )

In order to make the seat belt, I copied just the buckles from Patti's Buckle Up Ribbons and Bows, I copied a clothes pin fastener from her Fasten Its No. 02 element packs and used Katie's Basic Twill for the belt. It's not a complicated design at all, but it did involve a bit of erasing, copying, etc., and for some reason I spent a great deal of time on it. I've always had such respect for the designers here at DD, and after this experience I now worship you! Smile

Journaling reads:
"The road of life, if we are lucky, is a long one, but it is by no means a certain one. Full of twists and turns, it reveals itself only as it is traveled. What is around that next bend? Perhaps just a pothole, perhaps a nail, or perhaps an obstacle so big that we lose control and swerve off the road. entirely. We can hope for sunny skies and smooth pavement always, but we cannot know what lies ahead. That is why I always wear my safety belt."

I haven't been around here much recently as there's another grant deadline coming up next week. Ugh. See you on the other side!
