A feable attempt using Anna's kits. I vow to conquer them (some day!).
The photo is of my grandmother and grandfather on my dad's side. Unfortunately, I just wish I knew the other people in the photo. I love the dress of the time - it is kind of hard to tell, but Christina had feathers on top of her veil.
Journaling reads: Christina Colomba Grillo & Nichlos DeMartino
married in 1904 in Saint Michaels Church, Wooster Place, New Haven, Connecticut -
(the Italian section of New Haven)
Chirstina was 16, & Nichols was 23.
Hers was an arranged marriage, to a man she did not wish to marry. The story Christina told was that she secretly wished to marry another - a man she had never met, but had admired from afar. She knew that she could not go against her family's wishes, and had to go through with this arranged marriage.
As her wedding day approached, the original arrangement fell through, & although she never mentioned her wish to marry another, she was thrilled to learn her parents new choice was this unknown man. She knew it was meant to be.

The tatted handkerchief at the bottom is the one that my grandmother tatted for me for my wedding. I am sure she carried one as well.
