Journaling reads:
This was your first "Raingutter Regatta". Each Scout gets a block of styrofoam to build his own sailboat using all recyclable materials. You make your own wind by blowing through a straw. Your Dad found a design that was supposed to be pretty fast and he cut the styrofoam to spec. Your sail was made from a plastic cup and we added a couple of pirate stickers for a little pizazz. You won your first two races and lost the third. The straw gave you the most trouble. You needed to blow up into the sail instead of down on it. We'll practice more next year!


And yes, they really use raingutters to race in. It rained outside that night, so they had to bring the gutters inside for this event. The kids have fun.
