I've been trying to do something with this photo for a long time and when I saw the new iTunes challenge I knew it was just what I was looking for!
My dad worked for Hartsook Studios in Oakland California in the early 1920's when he was only in his teens. Harsook was at the time the largest studio in the country and was known as the studio where the stars had their portraits taken.
Famous clients included Mary Pickford, Charles Lindbergh, Lillian Gish, President Wilson and Henry Ford.
My dad's love of photography started here. He is on the left side, front row, third from left. His uncle also worked at the studio.
The board they are posing in front of is some sort of sales chart.
