1st Ornament - Dec. 20
This page turned into more of a then and now page, because as I was putting it all together & was looking at my sweet Rachel as a baby, and remembering how I felt with her at her first Christmas, and how I am reminded now that she is just a few short years away from her being on her own, that it felt like it is more of a page of my possibly loosing my little baby. It makes me sad, yet proud of how this beautiful little baby of mine has grown into such of special, sweet young lady. I remember dressing Rachel in the bright red, polished cotton dress that was really too large for her at 7 mos., but I loved the dress so much & knew it would be too small for her to wear her 2nd Christmas that I didn't care, so I hemmed it a bit, and dressed her in it anyway.
Journaling reads: We are so blessed to have Rachel in our lives. Such a sweet child - as a baby - always happy, seldom crying, happy to be in anyone’s arms, never fearful of any new experience.
It took less than a second for me to snap up this hallmark ornament, just perfect for her “baby’s first Christmas” ornament.
Our precious Rachel, now in college, will have this special ornament to take with her when she leaves home. despite my wishing she would never grow up, she has blossomed into a wonderful young woman who will soon be on her own. She will, however, always be my little baby.
