Journaling:
Twenty five days without eating dinner out. Time spent together as a family. Planning our meals around a busy work schedule. Cooking meals each evening, rotating responsibility in the kitchen. Being strong on those late evenings when stopping somewhere would have been easier. A quick trip out of town brought our streak to an end. Lunch out with family. Today when we returned home, it seems fitting to return to our favorite spot, the spot where everyone knows our names. The spot where the servers greet you and expect to see you in a costume each time. You ordered your usual - a small side of Rubicon Fries. I had an Irish Stout, Dad an IPA. Dad and I split a veggie burger with a side of fries. It felt good to be back at our spot knowing we could commit to twenty five more days at home. Taking a break from all our worries, sure does help a lot.
