This is a photo from the early 1950's of my sisters and my mom. I've always loved it, but always knew that if you could widen the lens, you'd see a whole other story.
I can tell that my mother looks very tired...it was right around this time that both she and her younger sister were diagnosed with advanced breast cancers.
Mom lost two of her sisters to breast cancer. They were in their 30's. Mom survived until 1980.
This page was prompted by a call from my oldest girl this morning..."mom, my dr. says it's time for me to get a mammogram; should I?" YES, Baby, yes.
That's our story.
