With apologies to Anna for doodling on her word art!

This started off as a lift of Fiona's (Applechick) great On the Line page, but then it collided with the most recent Just My Type challenge. However, you probably know it for what it really is--another page of my Maui vacation book!

The story is this...

On this day, we were exploring the beaches of south Maui, following the coastline until eventually the road just...stopped. It ended at a dirt parking lot, and I use the term "parking lot" in the broadest sense! When we got out of the car and walked around a bit, we found a series of trails that meandered through lava fields that stretched as far as we could see. Fascinating landscape, in a rocky, monochromatic, unearthly sort of way; the lava field rolled down the side of the volcano all the way to the ocean shore. At this particular instance, Peter had discovered a blowhole, and while he watched the water shooting up through the fissure, I was watching him. Fairly typical shot, really--me behind the camera, him in front. I lost count of exactly how many shots I took, trying to get one of the water at its peak. Fortunately my patient husband is used to this, and he was willing to hang out until I finally got the shot I wanted. ("Shirley, my knees are killing me! How much longer?" "Just one or two more shots, Sweetie! You're doing great!")
