Journaling reads:
Saying goodbye and sitting on the deck one last time. Moments later, it will be gone. Remember the times we would come out here and squeeze onto the deck to watch fireworks. Remember the times we were chased up the stairs by hornets because they were building nests under the stairs. Remeber this was our platform for taking pictures from high off the ground to get pictures of the pretty mountains. Remember that you kids took a bucket of chalk and drew all over the entire deck, only to have the rain wash it away days later. It was a gateway of our escape to the backyard for family memories and served us well. As we build a new one to make new memories on, we won’t forget the old one.
