I am finally beginning to scrap heritage photos sent from my mom for scanning. Most of these photos I had never seen, and unfotunately, often times know little more than what I am able to dig up from geneology searches.
Journaling reads: My dad's sisters Anna and Marie DeMartino. Anna about 21 and Marie about 17 years of age.
I wish I could ask Anna and Marie about this photo. Records show that around 1930, Anna worked as a secretary, and Marie worked as a manicurist. They lived on Park Street in the Hill section of New Haven.
I look at this photo in awe of what their life must have been like in the late twenties, just prior to the start of the depression. Perched on the hood of what looks like a Ford Model 'A' Roadster, in fashionable dresses of the day, just beginning their adult lives. Amazingly, the car in this photo could be purchased for around $500 when first released in 1927.
I haven't scrapped for almost a year, and I think itf it wasn't for the use of a template, it would have been much harder to get going again. I am hoping this is the push I need. Items used:
